Visited recently for the first time. The menu is extensively- there is something to suit everybody. I had the scallop & mushroom pie, and my 2 friends has the cheesy cottage pie. All 3 were delicious! I asked if the chef could put a shortcrust pastry top which the server said was not a problem. We ordered side vegetables which were fresh, tasty and plentiful. One of our party is gluten free, and the chef came out and discussed with her needs- we was very impressed. The desserts were gorgeous- a mixed of traditional english desserts and modern classics. I had jam roly poly pudding, the gluten free friend had gluten free pancakes with toffee sauce and ice cream, and my other friend had hot fudge chocolate cake. The service was fantastic and friendly. I would definetly visit The True Heart again.
I have been here about 5 times now. On all occasions it's been with family & always been pleased. The menu is varied & caters for all the family. We have been here with up to sixteen people on birthdays and the food has always come out fast, hot and at the same time. Bishopstone is a 30 minute journey for us but has so far been worth it. The food is prepared quickly but always tastes good. There is always a varied selection of home made puddings. It has a park out the back for the children & is ideal for family dining. There is plenty of free parking out the back.
The True Heart Inn can be found in the High Street in Bishopstone which is a pretty little place a few miles out of Swindon. Its a good place to stop in for a pint or a meal if you have been out enjoying the scenery. I've been there twice now and the people who run it seem friendly enough. I've only eaten in there once but the food was excellent. The only thing I will say is that they don't have a lot of choice on the menu for fussy children. We asked for a Children's menu and we were told that the children's meals where in the back. When I looked I found that they do do snacks such as rolls, sandwiches and a create your own pizza option but no warm childrens meals like chips and beans or anything. That was a bit dissapointing as we then had to go somewhere else. Otherwise a lovely pub with delicious food.
